Samoa Weather

The climate in Samoa is distinctly tropical. The islands lie to the north of Fiji, Cook Islands, Tahiti and Tonga making it more sultry and slightly hotter. Samoa weather enjoys year round sunshine with temperatures rarely below 27oC by day and sea temperatures averaging 24oC.
Summer - December to April
Summer begins in December and lasts until April. During this time it is hot and humid (31oC by day) with bright sunny mornings and predictable late afternoon downpours. This 'wet season' is a good time to come to experience the lush vibrancy of the rainforest - rivers are full, waterfalls gushing and the hills are refreshingly green. The down side is the high humidity, the increase in mosquitoes and the possibility of tropical storms or mightier cyclones.
Winter - May to November
By the beginning of May, a slightly cooler climate sets in with cooling trade winds from the south east. Temperatures are comfortably warm by day (28oC) and night (23oC). A light jumper during this time is advisable for nights and early morning.
