Apia Town has a good number of excellent restaurants and cafes. Mangoes, with nice mountain views, offers excellent meat dishes in a lovely setting. Sails Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Town and offers excellent breakfasts on its veranda overlooking Apia Harbour. Also overlooking the harbour, is Paddles with great seafood and wine selection. Giordano's offers excellent Italian cuisine and probably the best pizzas in the South Pacific and is situated near the Outrigger Hotel in the hills towards the hospital. If you have a rental car, try Cloud 9 about a 15-minute drive from Apia (call ahead for reservations). the restaurant is situated in a truly peaceful mountain location with stunning views over the rainforest and towards Apia Town. Not to miss are the Samoan Fiafia nights. This is a buffet style menu of traditional food cooked mostly in an underground oven, followed by traditional dancing shows. These are offered by Aggie Grey's and hotel Kitano in Apia and are open to the general public. There are plenty of budget style cafes and eateries in Apia including a Macdonalds.
Outside of Apia, the choice becomes limited. Apart from the beach fales (Taufua Beach Fales has particularly good food), few restaurants exist. Coconuts Beach Club is open to the public and has a great menu. Boomerang Creek, also on the south coast has good seafood and often lobster on its menu.
Dining out in Savaii is more limited still. There are a couple of cheap cafes in Salelologa Town and Lagoon Chalets on the waterfront has a reasonable restaurant open to the public. The best restaurant on Savai'i is at La Lagoto Resort. Of the beach fales, Vacations in Manase and Satuiatua on the south west coast offer excellent quality meals.
Samoa nightlife ranks as the best on offer in the South Pacific. Apia Town has numerous excellent bars and several good nightclubs.
